Tagnota is a browser extension developed by iWINGS. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data Tagnota collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data We Collect

Tagnota collects and stores the following data only when you actively create notes:

• Page URLs and titles — for pages where you choose to add notes or tags.
• Notes and tags — the content you write and the tags you assign to pages.

If you choose to sign in with Google, we also collect:

• Google account info — your name, email address, and profile picture, used to identify your account for sync and sharing.
• Authentication token — used to securely authenticate with our sync server.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history (we do not track pages you visit — only pages where you actively create notes)
• Passwords or financial information
• Location data
• Analytics or tracking data
• Data from page content (we do not read or scan webpage content)

How Data Is Stored

• Locally — All notes and tags are stored in your browser using Chrome's local storage. The extension works fully offline.
• On our server (optional) — If you sign in and use the sync feature, your notes are also stored on our secure server to enable cross-device sync and sharing with other users.

How Data Is Used

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Display your notes and tags on the pages you tagged
• Sync notes across your devices (when signed in)
• Share notes with users you explicitly choose to share with

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or analytics purposes.

Third-Party Services

Tagnota uses the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth — for optional sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies to the authentication process: Google Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

Your notes are shared with other users only when you explicitly choose to share by selecting a user and granting them access to specific domains or tags. No data is shared automatically.

Data Deletion

You can delete your notes at any time from within the extension. If you sign out, your synced data remains on the server. To request complete deletion of your server-side data, contact us at the email below.

Security

All communication between the extension and our server is encrypted using HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored securely in the browser's local storage and transmitted via secure headers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
